What is Sales Club?
The goal of the sales club is to help fellow MBA students hone in and fine tune their communication, presentation, interview, and networking skills. Most MBA students won't go into a sales career, but we believe everyone can benefit from a little extra help in presenting themselves and their ideas in the most effective way possible.
On May 10th, 2018 the Sales Club hosted a Sake night at Sake Bar GINN “地酒処 吟”, which is one of first sake bars in Hong Kong specializing in premium sake. Our special guest for the evening was HKUST MBA alumnus Raymond Lin, Head of Relationship Management, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan at LinkedIn.
On Tuesday, March 15th, 2018, The HKUST MBA Sales Club put on its inaugural Interview Games. We invited 20 students to prepare for and participate in mock leadership program interviews with best in class business leaders in Retail, Technology, Finance, and Management Consulting.
On January 31st, 2018, Sales Club hosted a dinner with 16 of our club members at Bombay Dreams restaurant in Hong Kong. Our special guest was Alan Rosling, entrepreneur and strategic advisor in India for over 35 years.
The Sales Club Executive team conducted a poll with all the members of the HKUST MBA Sales Club to get a better understanding of the types of skills they would like to develop. After analyzing all the results, presentation skills were a clear winner so we decided to co-host a dinner with the Hong Kong chapter of the Toastmasters Club. Our guest speaker was Aaron Leung, President of Victoria Toastmasters Club (Hong Kong's oldest Toastmasters Club).
